Blues Dance is an organization of dancers who have come together to promote dancing the Blues.

We don't aim to make a profit but to create high quality Blues dance nights.  This relies on the voluntary efforts of a good few people.

To bring together the best in UK Blues dancing to lead the best Blues parties and classes around. To promote and develop Blues dancing.  To have a great time doing it all.

Many of us had had tasters of Blues dance at Jive weekenders and workshops.  However, experience taught us that the average Modern Jive Freestyle and class night gave little or no opportunity for dancing the Blues because:

> No good Blues lead/ partner when there is a good piece of music
> Very few good pieces of music
The wrong atmosphere:
> too hot & sweaty
> too bouncy
> too early
> too intimidating with lecherous/ sleazy dancers
